Who we are
Rust Belt Startup ("we", "us") operates the Pro Forma Builder (the "Service"), a web tool that helps founders draft simple financial projections.
What we collect
- Account information. When you sign in, we collect your email address and, if you use Google sign-in, your Google account identifier and display name.
- Your pro forma data. The revenue, product, expense, and capital numbers you enter are stored so you can pick up where you left off from any device.
- Basic technical data. Standard log information (IP address, browser type, timestamps) needed to operate the Service securely.
How we use your information
- To authenticate you and save your work to your account.
- To send you the Rust Belt Startup newsletter and related founder updates. Using this tool constitutes your consent to join this email list.
- To operate, secure, and improve the Service.
- To respond to you if you contact us.
Email communications
Because the Service is provided free of charge, participation in the Rust Belt Startup email list is part of using it. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in the footer of any email; unsubscribing does not delete your account or your saved pro forma. We may still send you transactional messages (for example, password resets or important service notices).
How your data is stored
Your account and pro forma data are stored using our managed backend provider, which enforces row-level security so that only you can read or modify your own saved data. We do not sell your personal information.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us operate the Service (authentication, hosting, email delivery), or when required by law.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email.
- Request deletion of your account and saved pro forma by emailing us.
- Sign out at any time from the top of the app.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
